I'm running with a worn juvenile Least Sandpiper. Based on the droopy short bill and yellow/greenish legs for species. White fringed feathers and worn out look for age. This is fun.
To be honest, only after our ID discussions here I clearly see the huge difference in the bill shape
between this species and the other peeps. Very nice plumage on this bird...
Leg colour and bill shape point towards Least Sand - plumage at that time of year would make it a juv. I haven't seen these for 18 years but they are truly lovely little birds!
You are all right on. This is a quite worn juvenile Least Sandpiper, a far cry from the gleaming reddish brown jewels of mid-August. Now take a crack at #5!
