    Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted an image on here. Here is a pic of one of the many Northern Shrikes that inhabit the Estuary here in Nanaimo B.C.

    Stats: Canon 50D, Canon 500mm + 1.4, ISO 400, 1/200 sec at F/8

Have a great week and thanks for your comments,

    Steve

Nice find, angle, sharpness and eye contact. I would tone down the highlights and run NR on the BG.

Nice bird to photograph. Nice perch, and good BG. I would eliminate the two small spiderweb(?) streaks below the lowest twig, and smooth out the lighter areas in URC and behind your signature.

Very nice clean BG. A nice bird indeed. Agree about toning down the whites.

Beautiful pose and the color variation in the BKGR is great. another vote for toning the whites down. Maybe a little sharpening of the bird but that could be my monitor. TFS

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for your comments. I guess that I broke a few rules when I took this shot. The main one being my position while shooting. Unfortunatly it resulted in some unrecoverable highlights due to some back lighting that was going on. I will attempt to smooth things out in the background when I get back to my home computer.

    Thanks again for your comments,

    Steve
