Hmmm, I think the turtle was a bit too far away from you, Bill. It looks sharp where it should be and exposure seems to be good, too. But I still think it would be better if it was closer to you.
Thank you for sharing a photo of one of your favorite turtles, Bill !
I have Nikon working on my 1800mmVR f/2.8 as we speak. The bank has approved the loan and has taken the house as collateral. Nat Geo is waiting to see the turtle eye ball shot I promised. :D
I dig turtles. I really do. My issue is always that I am unsure of where they belong. The image is obviously not flora and not really macro. And yet the quiet, peaceful turtle never seems to fit among the lions and tigers and bears in wildlife. Oh well.
Not a bad image at all. It looks sharp and I really like colors of this painted(?) turtle. Nice image.
I think if we can allow lizards and other small creatures we can let a cute painted turtle play here.
I actually caught SEVEN of these guys sunning themselves this weekend on one log but they weren't really close enough for even my 400mm to get a good view. You did well to get this close, Bill!
I like the exposure you have here but am wondering if you dropped the water down another couple of points if that would really pop that head coming out of the water...you just don't want to lose that shell beneath the surface.
