Puff puff, crash crash... am I too late? Here is my light and shadows assignment. Marks off for late handing in, I know. Its just that I only took this today, and my reflections shots are, well, not good. Ok, enough excuses.

Canon Rebel Xsi, f/9 1/100sec, iso 400, with 24 -105 mm @ 75mm. This is a Dwarf-winged Eunomus, very bright red now, in my back yard. I am not crazy about the background... Comments are more than welcome. Even passed as notes in back of class.

Kat, I love your sense of humor!!! Those red leaves are so vibrant and at first I thought the upper left light area should go but I rather like the translucent look so I might suggest cropping the top just down to the leaf edge and perhaps maybe some from the right to lose some of that yellow/gold that distracts my eye.

Hi Katherine - Like were you were heading - might have tried to isolate one of those leaves and shooting it so that it has the translucent type effect you have here.
As is just a tad busy for my personal tastes - LESS is MORE - meaning quite often the simplest composition works best.
    Keep em coming :)

Love the colors, they really stand out, but i would also just focus on a leave or two my eye just wonders around the image. Great job:)

Hi Kat love the idea for this one but even more the entrance :) ....puff puff, crash crash ... sort of reminds me of "stage right exit left :) .. anybody remembers !!!

Combination of colors and shades is great, might do away with the lighter section on the UL and play around with moving the reds left/right to see how they interact with the bg !! Sweet !!!

    Hi Katherine,
I like the contrasting color combinations and shadow play...I would also recommend on isolating one leaf and zooming in on that single one...looking forward to your next one...
