Nice light & composition Dave, I would darken the center bird to black however.

    Hi Dave,
Great image. Tells a story. Evokes emotion. Wonderful exposure and composition.
Marc is right you could darken the center bird. I didn't notice it until I read his comment.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Clive

Nice shot Dave. Tells a story and its almost as if the centre bird is welcoming the incoming. Part of me goes with Clive and Marc, and part is happy as that slight extra detail adds interest. Either way, fine shot.

Thanks Marc and Clive for looking and for comments. I have revised as suggested and have also removed a few halos.

Hi Dave, Im 50/50 on silhouettes - I dont mind them 100% dark, but I also like to see a bit of detail too. Having said that, whilst the other two are dark, the centre guy must be dark too. A well balanced comp, and love the coloured BG.

Pretty neat scene you saw there. Darkening of the middle bird was good advice, and it works well. IMO the comp needed more room pretty much all around (except left). This would have avoided the clipped toes of the centre bird, and clipped rear of the rigth-most bird, as well as making the incoming one feel less cramped by the top edge. Cool dusk feel to this, and I like the sky/cloud patterns.

I like the idea and mood and agree on more room right and bottom if you have.

Thanks to all for looking and for comments.
Daniel and Axel, I agree on the space but unfortunately do not have more room right and bottom.
