Okay - just to spice things up I have created a silhouetted version of my 'Oryx Sunset (HDR)' shot posted a few days ago. (see http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=48273)

Taken in the Kalahari Desert. Added some canvas at the bottom (much easier with silhouettes...:p)

Please feel free to tell me which you prefer. :)

    Techs:
    Canon 40D with 100-400mm L IS USM @ 260mm
    f5.6 @ 1/800 SS @ ISO-800
    Exp -0.3

    thanks Bhai
in this one I left the sun as the sun was a big part of the mood of this scene as I saw it with my eyes.

Hey Mork, after having a second look, I like the silhouette as is, and the colours of the sunset are amazing. Not removing , but toning down the sun will make this a winner.

The silhouette makes this stronger Morkel, and as Stu suggested, toning down the sun will polish nicely. Well done and keep at it.

thanks Stu & Dave for your thoughts.

here is a final version with the sun toned down in terms of saturation and also burned a bit.

I think I like the other version better, there is too much merging for a successful silhouette, for my tastes anyway.
