    Default Ring-necked Duck

I stopped in at a local pond here on Vancouver Island the other day to see that these beauties have arrived back for the winter.

They are still a bit shy now and this is an image from last year. Come the new year they will be ready to photograph once again. I cant wait :)

    All the best!

Gorgeous specimen in some nice light. I might tone down the bright area just a little. I like that you can see the ring on the neck.

I wish these ducks were calm enough here in MA to get great shots of them but they are so spooky, they are almost impossible to approach.

Water is a beautiful background, low angle is great and it's nice and sharp.

I'd second Doug's comments relative to the hot spot on the side.

I love the water reflection color and pretty well balanced whites and blacks in same image and see previous comments. I wonder if the ring neck could have been emphasized more ?
