    Default Frog

    40D, EF 100mm F2.8 Macro
    F5.6
    1/80sec
    ISO 1250

Light was quite low, so I used f5.6, would have been nice more dof on the frog.
Camera on the log. Some crop, levels, brightness-contrast, nr.
    Comments are welcome.

    Hi Ovidiu,
Really nice capture. I Like the colours and love the background. I think I would take some off of the bottom and add some to the top, moving him down a bit. He needs more room above him to leap into. It would increase the background space I like too.
    Thank you for sharing,
    Clive

Interesting Clive !!! I see your point of the room for leaping which I never would have considered !!! .. its a choice with frogs !!!

Dof wise I like it as presented, does showcase the eye area well. About all I can think to do is moving around and try altering the relationship of head and log. Very pleasing and like it a lot !!!

Love the eye, big sharp and very detail. The skin texture is nice too. Agree about the crop, more room for the frog to jump into would be nice. Did you try the blur the background? The area around the stomach look a bit strange to me.

I like the image and capture. Agree on the extra room for the jump...you have sharp details, a good head angle and sharp eye...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Good point about more room to leap into. Have to keep in mind that!
Also agree about the relationship of head and log, should have been more careful about this.
Thank you all for comments and suggestions.

Good exposure and sharpness in the eye. Love the cololur of the frog too. How did you get this close without him leaping away???

Hi Ovidiu, This looks like a toad not a frog. :) Cute little guy! Very nice details. I like the DOF as presented. Well done!

Maybe because the weather was cool, no sun that morning and we were moving slowly. ...don't know...

Lovely color and texture here, Ovidiu. I think the crop suggestions would enhance your already good capture.
