This white Ibis is playing with a crawfish, since it seems too big to swallow. This is sort of trying to make lemonade out of lemons- high contrast direct sunlight is something I avoid if at all possible when taking pictures...but it does make nice shadows. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Exposure techs look good. Maybe a tad tight IMO, its all about feel anyway. I like the capture, nice eye and whites look spot on. The unique feeding situation is cool and the shadow gives the picture a sense of depth - well done.

Hi William Excellent capture, love the prey looking this way and pose with raised foot .. all sharp and well exposed.

Image seems a bit over warm for me? Not sure what was the wb or if it was changed during processing !!! Love the image !!!

    Nicely done Bill,
I like the capture. The exposure looks good, you have a good head angle and sharp eye contact. I like the play on the shadow...the only thing here was to go for a lower capture angle...looking forward to your next one...

Thanks guys. Alfred, may very well be a bit warm, pretty easy to fix. Interesting about the capture angle Gus. Now that you mention it the image is misleading; this is a section of the bayou that has a concrete embankment with a steep slope. The bird is actually very close to my level, from across the bayou. Since the the surface is by no means flat, apparent capture angle is altered considerably. I might add that the angle of the slope helped with the shadow, that would have been stretched on a flat surface.regards~Bill

Nice image, Bill. The exposure is good, and the crayfish and shadow create plenty of interest. I might take some off the bottom making it into a pano.

Nice eye for spotting the shadow and make an interesting image from harsh light. You also did really well with exposure, no white was lost and if you wish to you can gain more details in the white. Image is sharp too, the crawfish add nicely to the bird behavior and to the shadow.
