    Joel,
    Interesting fungus image, not an easy accomplishment reminds me of a kaleidescope.

    Couple things I would do if this was mine, doesn't mean its the right thing to do:-) Middle to right I would extend the log to the bottom of the frame and get rid of the off bit in the UL corner. Really like the colors and textures!

    Fully agree with Nonda Would also try to get some contrast/darken the white part of the log Does attract attention Tempted to suggest to go tighter for the mushrooms only Left side is stronger than the right !!!
