Sometimes we encounter a scene that just screams, "take me, take me". This was just such a scene. To me, this is a situation much more than a scene. This girl seems to have some trepidation, "Should I or shouldn't I?" I almost never photograph a bird with its head turned away, this situation required it. Placing her in the lower right leaving a lot of open water in front adds to the enormity of the task and the drama. Overcast, wind blowing her 'hair' gives me the feeling of a very chilly anticipated swim.
I got this one shot off and she took the plunge. I suspect my presence helped her decide.

Fully agree John, glad you captured the girl !!

Like the reason for position and might even go tighter but still keep as you have on the corner, just move the bird lower and right. ..... bird does have a special look and feel !!! :)
