Out the archives. Taken at the University of Pretoria sports grounds. Taken late afternoon, and I liked the warm colours created by the light.

    Stuart:

Nice wing position, eye, birds angle in the frame.

From a personal standpoint, I would add a bit of space below and a sliver to the right.

The golden light is nice. I did try a version at slightly lower color temp, which brought the blue in the sky up but maintained most of the golden light effect. Just an option. To my eye, the original is starting to show almost a subtle greenish cast.

As always, you are the artist, your choice.

    Cheers

Great pose and light. Love the feather details under the wing. As posted the face could use an extra dose of sharpening, and I would fix the PP artefact in LLC (white line along edge).

Thanks a lot guys and Denise.

Randy, good advice on the sky - thanks.

Dan, sharp eyes, I should have picked it up. You also picked up that very OOF branch across the tail of my recent posts. That I never saw, until you pointed it out. Thanks a stack.

Great light, wing position and eye contact. I would put the bird a tad higher in the frame and run NR on the BG and yes to fixing the lower left area.

Love the light, body positon and eye contact and I'm impressed with the ability to have nice detail from wingtip to wingtip at f 7.1.

I ight try it with the subject just a tad higher on the frame?

Lovely light, wing position, and sharpness. Another vote for placing the bird slightly higher in the frame and for running some NR on the BG.
