Canon PowerShot S90
Macro Setting, hand held
Aperture priority, evaluative metering -0.67, f/8.0 at 1/320 sec, ISO 400
In a test of my new S90 camera, I ventured out toward one of the euonymus hedges in my yard that is living up to its fall "burning bush" reputation, and hosting numerous praying mantises bent on depositing egg cases. This image tests my new camera in macro mode. The lighting was less than optimal with a light shadow across the head. Nothing has been done to counter noise, which may well be present at ISO 400 for this little camera.
While the S90 cannot approach a DSLR in IQ, I think it passes my test for a camera that I can have with me everywhere in my pocket.
What do you think?
