Took this one morning after a new fallen snow. The elk take on a different look in the snow and I am glad we had the opportunity to see them in the snow as the weather had been between 70 and 80 in the Tetons.

Awesome Judy, both have a color cast, but I like the blue as it gives it that cold feeling. Great eye contact looks like your guide put you on great photo opts.

Thank you Alfred. Thought I was going mad. Does look a tad green. Problem being that I expect snow to have a blue cast, particularly in the shade. So we have a base, my take was in Color Balance, CS4, +8 red, +4 green, -4 blue. Tiny tickle via new layer of selective sharpening on the Elk, at 60%, 0.6 Smart Sharpen in Luminosity Blend mode, then reduced to 47%: flattened. (trying to bring more detail in the hide). Understand all tricky, and depends much on monitor calibration. (and our failing eyes.....lol, :D). Hope of use. By the way, fine, fine shot Judy, and the look back, awesome. Congrats.

    Judy,
The fun continues for you guys!!

Personally, I like the color cast just the way it is in the original image.
It was cold out and the slight blue cast makes the image look and feel cold.

Maybe bring the mid-tones up a tad?

Well composed, nice and sharp. Congrats!

Looks like you caught him just after he rolled out of bed. Nice look-back pose. I like the snowy grass. Image captures the cold nicely.
