Canvas added to bottom just a bit to straighten it. Cloned a little bit of debris from bottom, and smoothed out BG a bit.

Artistic image, Denise. The subdued color palette of the background is a nice compliment to the plover's winter plumage, the inclusion of the single rock grounds the image, and the rising sun in his (her?) eye and the pull of the water by the raised foot add subtle bits of interest. This image appeals to me very much.

Wonderful catch Denise. Love the raised foot with the water dripping down. Nice comp and the rock balances it out nicely. Congrats

You have lovely details and colors here, Denise. Just love the rising sun in the bird's eye, the raised foot and the mount of sand. Great vision you had here.

Thankyou all for your very kind comments. I appreciate them alot. The "rock" is a jellyfish (a very sandy jellyfish). The shoreline was laced with them yesterday.

IMO pretty much your best image so far. Detail(especially right leg), lighting, DOF, exposure, pose, catchlight, color, all excellent. The position of the bird is the only thing I might take issue with, it seems a bit too centered. I'd move it to the left, and perhaps remove some of the space above. Of course this may just be personal preference. Great job! regards~Bill

Hi Denise, I like the soft light and pastel colours, and your angle of capture makes this work so well. The raised foot adds too. Well done.

Beautiful pose and excellent details. I particulalry like to see the leg patterns which are probably often overlooked in favor of the plumage.

Thankyou all for your comments. I appreciate them very much.
Bill, Regarding crop-this is not my usual crop. I usually go for a wider crop w/ my bird off-centered a bit-however taking into consideration the jellyfish that I wanted to include-I felt this was the best crop. Of course that is always a matter of opinion:) I appreciate your thoughts on the crop.

Excellent work, Denise. Pose with raised foot, detail, light, angle, and the creamy gradient of a BG. Sweet!
