I could have possibly gone a little to the left to avoid the kentish plovers in the foreground but chose not to. I somehow like the feel of the kentish plovers looking in awe at the beautiful curlew.
Seems to have lost a little details in the compression...please adjust.

what a brilliant capture this is rahul. i like the dof and the angle. to my taste wish you have taken the frame without plovers with full legs visible of curlew
Sharp, and a beautiful new species for this shorebird lover. I may actually have seen this species but not at such close range in gorgeous light. Shoot the plovers!!! Having the other birds in the frame is bad enough but having them merge with the curlew's legs is a crime against nature and photography. Do note that the bird's head is slightly turned away; that is a punishable offense!
In all seriousness, thanks for posting this beauty and thanks a ton for your membership support.
If you have another one of this bird without the foreground birds, please do post it here.

ps: I forgot: the bird is squinting just a bit. Once you get in position, take lots of frames so that any eye problems might be gone from one frame to the next.
Where and when was this bird photographed?
Can anyone age it?

Ditto Artie. It looks like the nictating membrane was down. The frame before or after this probably has a clearer eye. The plovers bug me, and makes me hope that you got images of them as well.
I like the low angle, and you have captured good sharp detail. I wouldnt have minded the OOF plovers, but the the one infront of the leg is a bit distracting.
