Default Is that all the ruby you have?

While photographing some Ruby-crowned Kinglets a couple of weekends ago this was the most I got of the "ruby" crown. They are so non-chalant when breeding season is over :-) I do however like the viw of the orange feet! I'll have to try my luck at a raised crest next spring;)

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/7.1, ISO 500, no EC, natural light, handheld, almost full-frame. Audio used to intice it out from deep inside the evergreen.

Love the depth this one has. Beautiful detail on his face and eye. Only wish it wasn't so dark behind his beak. Still a lovely one man. Congrats

Hey Dan, cute liitle guy. He appears very round and very tiny. I like the angled pose, overall nice and sharp, and good job on the eye. I would love to hold this little guy in my hand. Cheers.

You've got the crown :) very nice feel with the HA as if it listens to the recording
    very carefully.

Nicely done, even with a hint of a crown. Hard to find these guys sitting still even for a moment.
