    Default Goldfinch in flight

    Hi

This is my first post here. During last summer my 500mm had to go back to Canon for servicing and while it was away I decided to have a play with some flash in the back garden to try and capture some goldfinch in flight. I found myself at the bottom of a steep learning curve!!! This was my favourite shot of those tests.

Shot was taken using a 1Dmk2N and 100-400mm lens at 1/250s ISO 400 and F11

    Cheers

    Rich

Welcome, Rich. Very nice pose. I like the wing blur but would prefer if the head were completely visible. I might crop a bit off the bottom.

Welcome Rich . The blur is awesome and excellent detail in the head and feet. I would have preferred the whole beak being revealed but hey these are difficult images and you did well. I agree about the cropping.

    Hi Rich,

I have to agree with Axel's comments, he is right on the money.

    Welcome to BPN.
