Yesterday at the local lake. I was practicing on gulls in flight when this fellow suddenly popped up with his lunch, so my settings are all off. Had to adjust exp. in RAW conversion, and s/h in PS. Also cropped out another envious cormorant on the right. I realize the HA on the bird is a bit off (the HA on the fish is seriously off). I desaturated the BG, but the reflections of fall foliage may still be distracting. Any suggestions, C&C welcome.

Bill- The image shows nicely the prodigious gullet of cormorants! I like the feeling of action as the bird surfaces with the prey. I would suggest upping the sharpness of the bird's face which seems a little soft on my monitor.

Nice catch, good soft light and setting. I wish the bird were angled toward you and I would give it a bit more room for the 'virtual back' or go for a vertical crop.
