Spectacular pose and head position. Would love to see a bit more detail in the darks and a bit more room in front of the bird. Did you attract the bird in any way?
Love the BKGR too.

Hi Rick. Love the pose, and you got good sharpness. I usually find myself adding EC to dark birds flying against a sky BG, and that may have helped with the darks here, although the detail is pretty good as posted. I would crop a bit off the top and the left, and I might consider placing the bird higher in the frame.

My favorite hawk, nice shot.. tad dark, nice head position, I'd remove a little left and top, and add
a little to the bottom
I too would like some more room up front and wished he wasn't so dark but still a lovely image with great wing/tail spread. I've been trying to get close to one of these for a few weeks now and she won't let me get close. Congrats
Did you attract the bird in any way?
Thanks Artie for your comments.
No I just look for a spot in the field and WAIT.
I'm down in Homestead, FL

Thanks Rick. You must be a patient man.... And maybe a bit lucky. I have been waiting for one to fly by me for 26 years without any luck....
