    Default Northern Mockingbird Set-up

    Northern Mockingbird

    Upper Texas Coast

    D3, 600, ISO 800, f9, 1/1000, -0.3 EV, Fill @ -1.7 EV.

Shot this one about 4 hours ago.
I set the berries up over a small drip pond.
I plucked some selected leaves off the perch first and also clipped off a few branches to entice the bird to land where he did.
This is about 90% of the frame.

That is great set-up. The branch is quite complex, but I like since it looks
very natural that way. We usually think of this bird as "common" and not
too interesting, and yet you managed to make a great image with it.
    Thanks for sharing!

Superb result, Alan. DOF covers the perch, berries and bird well while rendering a lovely BG. Lighting looks very natural.

Common or not common this bird is superb. Love the berries, especially the one in the bird's beak, great set up and light.

I don't think it gets any better than this Alan! The overall effect is gorgeous, but I keep noticing most the warm light, and therefore the colours, and the eye of the bird! I will have to order the CD.
