    “Be My Guest”

Note: The original background was taken out and replaced with a dark one in order to add to the mystery and character of this wonderful animal in its entire splendor.

This kitty cat was resting patiently waiting for company to arrive. This magnificent cat is a resident of Miami’s Metro Zoo. He was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens, with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 510mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera spot metering / 1/500 sec - f/6.7 /exposure comp @ 0EV / ISO @ 400 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 1 degree / saturation factor @ 2 degrees / support platform – tripod assist with remote electronic trigger release.

    Comments greatly appreciated...

    Hi Gus,
you have a lot of detail in the hair on this fellow. I see that you used a number of techniques to get that sharpness. The black background really works to make him pop out of the screen.
You right about degrees of adjustment, I am using Capture NX2 and number scale, what program are you processing with.
    Thank you,
    Clive

Good idea on the bg but not sure about the sharpening? ... looks a little over but maybe its just on my end .. particularly the nose area !! Sure wish we could get there at an earlier time with good light !!!

Black BG is great!! I agree with Al regarding sharpening, seems a tad heavy, could be wrong.
