    Default 1000th post-A Red-tailed in last light

This is my 1000th (+1) post on BPN forums, I really appreciate all the feedback I have received here.

I was preparing to pack the gear and head back when I saw this red-tailed approaching, light was very low (thus 1/200sec @ ISO2500) I decided to blur the wings but get the focus on the eye as it was cursing upwind. I was able to get one shot when it was parallel to the camera.

    D700 + 200-400 f/4 VR + 1.4X TC @ 500mm f/5.6 1/200sec Handhold ISO 2500.

    Hope you like it

Very nice!!! I wish you would have got the wing clear by a higher shutter speed!!!

Very nice! The motion filled blurry wings work for me.

Pretty darn nice for handheld and very little light. Good panning work.

Congratulations on your 1000th post Arash! You got the eye pretty sharp considering your shutter speed. Lovely late afternoon light. I would only wish that the beak had some separation from the far wing.

I like the motion shown in the wings with the slow SS and agree with Doug that separation between the beak and the wing would have been more optimal.

The bright area at the top of the image which almost looks sorta blown out on my monitor would be less distracting if it were toned down or even cloned out?

I like the motion as well. Creates a nice mood. I wish for more separation between bird and BG.

Arash, congrats on your milestone. Good job with the high ISO, and you have done exceptionally well considering your slow ss. Love the tucked in claws too.

CONGRATS Arash! Well done mate. Good to see you reach this milestone!

Love the picture. It appears just a touch flat and maybe a little more contrast to pop it more. Great work! :)

Beautiful image, blurred wings add greatly to this shot. Great job at 1/200 and panning.

Congratulations Arash, I really enjoy your images.
I love the fact that you have sharp eyes in contrast to blurred wings.
    Very nice overall flight feel.

    Congrats on the 1000 arash.
I like this image the sharp head and blured wings works very well.
I think this image would work well with a pano crop taking off the bright area above the bird?
