For some reason I thought you guys would like this one. Usual Topaz stuff, however I played around with background gradients after selecting the bird and rock.
The snowy liked this rock in the middle of the bayou, where he would perch, fly off and catch a fish on the wing, then fly back. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Bill, Fantastic pose and the details are great. I love the gradient BG and think you did a fantastic job w/ the color. I do think it has a bit of a cut and paste look and I might refine the edges a bit more.Very nicely done. I esp. like the composition!

Hi Bill, Good landing pose with nicely muted backround. A bit more noise in the right wing than I would care to see...

Agree with the cut and paste comment. there looks almost like there could be a halo around the white parts of the egret. But a wonderful pose. Nice work.

Thanks guys, and very good suggestions, some of which I might have dealt with if I had actually spent more time working on the image and used a more critical eye.. The cut and paste comments are quite valid, and pretty easily dealt with more feathering in "Refine Image." The noise under the right wing, as Dave pointed out, should have been dealt with as well; usually with a history brush and then fade last command (instead of just reducing the opacity of the history brush). I'm not sure about the halo Ed pointed out. Sometimes halos show up after JPEG conversion. With full size images I have ways to deal with them as well, of course I have to notice these things in the first place.
I appreciate feedback as usual. regards~Bill
