Default End of preen Tree Swallow

We have a very reliable spot for this species in the Spring where we can get rather close to these beautiful birds. This guy was preening for a few minutes and offered many wonderful and contorted poses. As many birds also do, it then made a final stretch to its wings and tail to properly re-align its' feathers. This is when this image was taken.

Very nice pose and iridescence. Might work as vertical, too.

    Hi Daniel,

This is very nice. The pose and tail is gorgeous. I also like the blue sky and composition.

Great capture Dan. Nice morning light and the tail fan is lovely. Lets hope that we'll get some more opportunities there this coming spring.

Nice job on exposure! Interesting pose and perch is ok. Agree about a vertical.

Love everything about it esp. the fanned tail. Wish for the bird to be looking a bit more towards you.

Well done, very nice image, nicely exposed and perfect timing. I agree that vertical may also work.
