This guy met his maker when he flew in to a window in the summer. But I kept him and photographed the wings today with the 100 mm macro.
Masked him out from the BG, added a new fill layer colour for the BG, put it through NIK Saturation Stylizer, then difference in layers in PS.
Cropped from top and bottom for comp.
    Comments Appreciated, thanks!

Hi Jackie, Interesting composition with nice, sharp detail in the wings. Your choice of colors work very well together. Good job!

Jackie, I like the composition-it has a unique look. Color is interesting and works well w/ the crop. I like the brownish/green tones that are on the one side of the wing -maybe you could add some to the other side? Very nicely done and glad you dropped by-I miss seeing your creativity!:)

Jackie, really neat idea! I love the colors and the bg color really adds to the image.

Very nice composition, Jackie! I've tried similar photos myself. I like all the detail in the wings and good choice of colors.

Thanks for the comments everyone, Christopher the hard part of the shot is to eliminate the shadows under the wings. I used flash and tried to go as high key as I could. Still traces of shadow on both wings on outer as you can see. I tried elevating him thinking it might eliminate the shadows even more, but they got worse and I started getting double shadows. Used the twin lite macro. The detail in the wing amazes me.
