Default Marbled Godwit in Surf ~ Late Light

    Attached Images Attached Images

Loacation: Plymouth Long Beach in Plymouth MA. Outgoing tide late in the day on 9/13/09.

Image created late in the day when it had actually become cloudy above but I got lucky and the sun broke through the clouds for a moment from behind me.

    Nikon D300s, 500VR, TC14EII, ISO 640, F 7.1, 1/1000, CW metering, NearUniWB, +.7EV applied

I know that some folks are going to comment that I should have removed the spectral highlights on the bubbles of the water, especially on the leading edge. Personally I like them as that's what I see when looking through the VF. Your thoughts?

Great light, walking pose and good sharpness. I don't mind the specular highlights here since they are not too big.

This is just lovely Jim!!! I love the light you had. The HA, stepping motion and the water just makes this for me. I will go with Axel on the specular highlights.

great light, pose and low angle. no need to tone down the bubbles IMO.

Love the soft light and the wave and raised leg really adds to the image.

Lovely warm light, dynamic pose, and the bubbles really add to the image. There seems to be a halo around the bill.

Jim, couldn't ask for a better image of a M. Godwit. The light is just perfect and your low angle great. Highlights don't bother me but I might lighten his eye a bit. Congrats

I like everything about this. Super walking pose with the raised foot, lovely light, showing the colours nicely. I feel you have exposed this so well, and overall nice and sharp. Great image Jim.

Super shot Jim. Highlights not an issue at all. Great light on this and love the raised foot and low angle of view. Nicely done.
