    “Seńor Pepe”

    This is Seńor Pepe the iguana who now resides in a large pad at the Amazon exhibit in Miami’s Metro Zoo. Seńor Pepe was painted with a Nikon D300s, using a Nikkor 300mm f/4D IF-ED lens, with a Nikkor 1.7 T/C.

    focal length @ 510mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera spot metering / 1/250 sec. - f/6.7 /exposure comp @ -0.7EV / ISO @ 500 / white balance @ auto / AF - Mode @ manual / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution – ambient light / tone comp @ 1 degree / hue adjustment @ 2 degrees / saturation factor @ 2 degrees / support platform – tripod assist with remote electronic trigger release.

    Light and detail is awesome Gus. Some may suggest a little more room around the subject, but that in my opinion, is stretching for a critique. I like it as presented.

    great pose, but I think you will find that that "awesome detail" Nick is referring to
    is mostly a result of severe oversharpening. Some very strange edges and the
    entire subject perimeter has an artifact halo.

    Like I said Gus, a nice one but you really have waaaaaaay oversharpened it

    Pepe sure had texture Gus. It is probably hard to great really sharp shots through glass.... never tried it myself.
    Does he live near Marvin:)?

    Neat creatures Gus !!! For anything with such a prominent eye I like to position more to the rule of thirds or at least lower it from the edge a bit !!!
