    Dear all
This is picture of rangoli created by my better half

Rangoli is one of the most popular art forms in India. It is a form of sandpainting decoration that uses finely ground white and coloured powders, and is commonly done outside homes in India.
The term rangoli is derived from the words rang (colour) and aavalli ('coloured creepers' or 'row of colours').

I think I have applied sketch filter , original pic posted in friends & family

All commnets are welcome and much appreciated

    Harshad,

I was fascinated to read about this tradition in India and apparently in many other cultures as well.

The artwork that your wife has created is beautiful and your treatment has enhanced the "sand" concept with its grainy appearance. Very appropriate choice of filters.

How large is the rangoli? Is it still intact? I find it interesting that so much care and attention to detail and beauty are poured into artwork that will last only a short time. This is similar to sandcastles made on the beach only to be taken away by the wind and waves.

beautiful work and image.......following your sand painting link to Rangoli,
I am amazed at the beauty of the Indian representations.
Is this also a symbol of hospitality or welcoming of friends?
