This is really beautiful. Has quite a 3D look to itand seems just a bit muted...perfect for the subject.

Jackie, Lovely detail and comp. Nice choice of BG color. LH flower looks very sharp; petals on RH flower look a tiny bit soft on my screen, but still lovely (maybe it's my recent cataract surgery).

Thanks Bill, I gave it some extra sharpening. Was trying some different sharpening this time. The focus point was on the little white center on the RH flower. Used one of the outer focusing points on the camera. Hope this looks better.

This is one beautiful Image Lady Jackie...I like the position and capture angle of the flower in frame. You have nice clean lines and the light solid background showcases your lady quite well. The repost with the added sharpening is over the top...well done...

Definately sharper. Having seen the result I'm not sure the very slight softness of the first didn't work just as well given the subject matter. I'll be interested in what others say. I'm still struggling with the whole issue of sharpening.

Sweet - well done. The BG really makes your subject POP and the repost with the extra sharpening rocks. Composition works well for me.

looks just perfect to me Jackie......just as I would expect to see in real life
Either level of sharpening works for me.
The purple/maroon veining is the only element that may be a bit weak, could be a bit
darker for contrast which will give illusion of added sharpness

    nice nice image

Thanks for the comments everyone, it really helps me to learn. Dave I think you are right, I thought I had the colours pretty true to life, but I think maybe the veins are actually darker. I will work on it tomorrow. It was fun to photograph, the flower was actually opening up before my eyes.

I really like this image. I think one of my orchids is just starting to get a new flower spike so I am looking forward to capturing it. Hope it turns out as good as this.

I, too, really like this image. The BG is very well done. I learned from you that a good BG can be created with paint. RE the blooms, I like the re post better.

Excellent Jackie ... can add its a perfect lens for the image, going with less foal length does give the extra dof needed for the image, great feel and fine image !!!

Nice picture, color looks fine to me and things on a flower are not always sharp.
