I like the setting, eye contact and BG. If it were mine I would adjust the midtones to about 0.9 and sharpen the bird some more.
Hi Dave,
This a very pretty image and I agree with Axel's suggestions for making it even stronger.
Best,
Nicki
Beautiful setting. Looks to be a very large crop, seems to be major loss of detail throughout.
I have tried Axel's suggestions. I am not sure how much sharper it is, and perhaps even a bit lower on the midtones would have helped even more. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. Dave
The repost looks better and you could probably make it even darker. As for sharpness, it depends on how sharp the original is and how much it is cropped.
Beautiful young sparrow, and an interesting perch - although I wish it would have climbed up higher onto it. Great clean BG too. The image looks overexposed - the repost brings it closer to par, but could still go darker. I also find there is too much room above and right, if the details can take it some cropping to minimize those vast areas would be good.
Thanks for the comments Axel and Daniel. It is a decent crop and about as tight as I am comfortable with. Although not over exposed it is certainly to the right, and I am learning to get the contrast and more tones back into the photos. Dave
Dave, I like the perch settings, and the sparrow certainly has complimentary colours to the overall image.
lovely looking cutie, nice settings ,

Thanks for comments everyone It is much appreciated. And thanks Daniel for pointing out the correct terminology and method for correcting over exposure. Dave
