This tricolor was feeding on minnows early one morning along the shoreline at Tigertail Beach, on Marco Island. Unfortunately, the light feathers under the wing pull the eye away from the action, but don't know what I can do about that. C & C welcome!

The fishing pose, light and details look very good, I also like the composition and would prefer if we could see the eye. Does it need a bit CW rotation?
I was photographing some little egret last week fishing. Having taken a few photos I came to the conclusion that this type of photo is improved if you get the strike a little early so you can see the eyes, although they are usually covered by the membrane. I like the pose of the bird with the well lit underside of the wing. I think the requirement for rotation is a close call and if so it would be very small.
Hi Mike,
Personally I like that you have captured this unusual moment! I think that it would work really well as part of a panel of pictures as it tells an essential part of the bird's story.
Best,
Nicki
I like how you have captured the head in the water, so not seeing the eye in this doesnt bother me. The wave caused by head ducking in the water puts this over the top for me, and agree a CW rotation is needed. Maynbe adding a bit to the bottom will work too.
