A few years ago I saw some bunting images in Wildbird and I said to my self I would love to be able to get images like that ! I found the photographer over at NSN (before the rise of BPN) and began to basically stalk him online... I was Alan Murphy.

I said to Alan if you ever do a workshop just sign me up.. he started doing them in 2008 in TX and I was there and it was tremendous !! He was open and share how he does what he does. Now I see from Artie's newsletter that an e-book is on it's way..... I know after 2 workshops with Alan and a 3rd scheduled I will be ordering it.

So here is Painted Bunting take in the TX fields with Alan and a snoring Scott... TX Hill Country Alliance picked this for their 2009 Calendar.

Lovely image, Wish the bird was turned more towards us and the leaf near it's breast is drawing my eye to it and could do with being cloned out, Other than that it's superb :)

I like the pose, setup and BG. Maybe another round of sharpening and a bit more room at the left since the bird is quite centered as presented.

All the colors really look spectacular. The perch itself could make a nice image, never mind throwing a Painted Bunting into it. Very impressive, I too will have to get Alans' CD when it comes out. I'd also like a little more sharpening especially around the head. Congrats

Nice HA, perch, and BG. The bird is a bit centered, and I would boost the contrast.
