    Default 100-400 IQ...is my copy of canon 100-400 sharp?

    Is my copy of canon 100-400 sharp??
    What do you think?....
    images are unedited and unsharpened , in PS...only image size and 100% crop,saved as jpg quality 12

    Hi Marko,

    It is very difficult to determine the sharpness of your lens by viewing an image displayed on the web. I would suggest that you make similar images with your lens and another prime lens that you are confident is sharp and then compare the images at full size. If you can easily tell a difference in sharpness, then your 100-400mm may not be a sharp copy and should be sent in along with your example images. I can't easily tell images apart between my 100-400mm and my 500mm or 300mm. I have a very sharp copy of the 100-400mm. It's sharp even when used wide open.

    Marko, I had a very sharp copy of that lens when I did Canon, and still sometimes, an occasional image would not be sharp due to many circumstances.
    Jim's test sound like a good way to tell. 640 is a borderline shutter speed....
