In the past few days I have been posting images I made using the knowledge gained on an Alan Murphy workshop in Texas last year. I got to thinking that perhaps I should post an image from that workshop so here is a south Texas Hooded Oriole. Alan has a knack for getting birds to land in a specfic spot , and he called the spot when he set up this perch at that workshop.

I like the setting, pose and BG. The bird itself looks a bit soft on my monitor. What focal length and camera did you use?

    Hi Joe,
Great looking bird and perch. Agree on a tad more sharpening.

Loverly bird and mesquite. A Quick Mask or two could be used to hide the scar of the broken branch between the bird's legs.

What a great pose and I like how the bird is framed with the leaves. I agree, it does appear a bit soft though.

Love the framing with the branches although I think it leaves a bit too much space in the LLC. Great colors and background. Agree with Axel that the bird looks soft. JR

Super comp with the oriole framed nicely in the fork of the tree. I agree on a tad more sharpening.
