    Default A Raptor Portrait

    Could get close to this Indian Spotted Eagle after he was exhausted because of a unsucessful hunt of a lark. This is the first time he let me so close to him, I felt blessed.

    Spec: 1/800, F 7.1, ISO 800.

    Canon 40D + 500mm + 1.4TC

    Thanks for the story behind the image. Love the eye contact, sharpness, and BG. I might lighten the iris just a little.

    as Mital bhai said earlier... its time you started macro photography of your raptors kiran bhai... what fantastic details... the light, pose, BG all make this an absolute winner...Congrats...

    Awesome portrait...check out how thick the neck appears to be! I like the panting pose - and the story puts this into context. Well done Kiran.

    I like the composition, soft light, sharpness and BG but the open beak puts it over the top for me.

    A wonderfully regal pose and bird. I love the details in the rich brown feathers. It's a good thing that it was a fast, elusive lark.
