    Default 7D: Green Heron Flyby

I've not had many opportunities to photograph a Green Heron in flight, but was fortunate to get one flyby last week in California. The 7D tracked the bird quite well against a varied BG and maintained focus as the bird moved out over the water. This was the best frame in terms of wing position and eye contact.

Hi Doug, lovely flying posture, with good detail. Comp works well too. Have you used the full 8fps yet?

Great catch. How many OOF shots in tracking this fellow with the 7D? :)

lovely IQ, exposure and wing position Doug. I'm also curious to know if you've utilised the 8fps to the max yet...

Hi John. I took 20 frames over 7 seconds, and the bird was against the sky, a varied green BG, and the water. Ten of the frames were tac-sharp. Six of the frames were sharp. One frame was soft. And three frames were somewhat more OOF. I'm going to post the entire series in the Photography Gear forum and let you all be the judges.
