    Default Red-bellied Woodpecker

Here is an image I captured back in May of this year. I was set up waiting for the Blue Grosbeaks to appear when this RBWP came in close. Could not resisit the photo op. This is full frame vertically with only the sides cropped off. The background is natural, i.e. mowed grass field.

    Taken with a D300, 600VR, 1.4tc, f/7.1, ISO 400, 1/400th ss.

    Hope you enjoyed.

I certainly enjoyed this one Jason! The sharpness and posture is great, and the soft filtered light really brings out the feather detail!

A good bonus opportunity - glad you took advantage of it! Nice view of the patterns along the back. The mowed grass made for a nice BG. I only wish for a better head turn.

Very beautiful seen, and the bird gave you an acceptable HA as well.
