    Default Re-Create - Rose

    1) In PS convert to B&W
    2) Gaussian Blur to soften it just a bit
    3) Use Topaz Simplify - sketch hard pencil
    4) Minor Levels adjustment in PS
    5) 4pt white stroke box around outer border
    6) Duplicate layer and use rectangular marquee to create first inner box
    7) Use eraser to remove areas of line in order to create the effect of the line going over and under pedals
    8) Duplicate layer create another stroke box and repeat the eraser tool

This can be a time consuming project. I have spent a lot of time on some flowers and they look very nice even creating a type of 3D effect. This one was done kind of quick but I think everyone gets the idea. Let me know what you think or if have any questions about the technique.

Nick, Interesting and creative! Nicely done. I like the depth created w/ the framing lines and that you didn't just lay them on top. Thankyou for sharing your workflow!

Hi Nick, Very creative adding a different dimension by the petals overlapping the lines. I also like the sketch look of the image along with the crop...

very nice concept and work Nick.
For me, some of the black is just a wee bit bold for such the delicate soft subject
