I photographed this Solitary Sandpiper a few weeks ago while it was foraging for insects in the mud. Are the specular highlights, both FG and BG, too much of a distraction?

Hi Jim. I'm lovin the bird and overlooking the spec highlights! They don't make for a beautiful image but, I really like the bird, even with the side lighting!

Very nice bird, we don't see it too often here. Also pose is nice and the insect adds a lot. Not sure about BG and FG but there so much of it that it does make interesting pattern. Can you tell us what is the lens?

Great job getting a nice clean close-up of one of these guys Jim. I have so many shorebird images with with these kind of highlights so I don't mind them too much.

The low angle works well Jim, and his catch a bonus. Good detail, and the highlights dont bother me.
