Welcome to BPN, Bruce! Nice first post, good find, interesting pose, setting and eye contact. I wish the head were parallel to the sensor and would give it a bit more room at the right. If you post a larger version it would be easier to comment in more detail. You can post images up to 1024 pixels horizontally and 800 vertically. Keep them coming!

Welcome, Bruce. Nice clear view of the Sandpiper in a busy environment. Posting your image larger (1024px wide or 800px high max) would giver us a clearer view and maximise constructive feedback. It would be fine to repost a larger version in a reply to this thread. Looking forward to seeing more of your birds.

Yes to much larger. Could use a bit of a contrast boost as well. I am fine with the head angle. Your subject is a juvenile in pretty fresh plumage. And sharp.

Very nice first post Bruce. I really like the setting and the pose on the bird is nice. My only nit is the single OOF blade of grass just to the lower right of the bird in the foreground. It keeps popping out at me when I look at your shot.
