Great catch of the moment, Judy. I love the diagonal, the back leg lifted, and the alert face. Given it looks like a low light situation, any reason you were shooting f/14?

Good reaction Judy, he pounced so fast! A bigger aperture would have given you better shutter speed.
Did you any with the vole? I did, but no details in the catch :(

Great timing Judy and I love you have this coyote doing it's pounce in snow. I agree about a bigger aperture would've been nice, but this is great as is... congrats!

    Hi Judy
It s always difficult trying to capture animals in action.. great timing to get the leap..., but the coyote seems a little soft ... be interested to know hear why you chose these settings... or maybe like me sometimes you forget to check when you get caught up in the moment...
either way you got that shot and that s what matters ..

Peter you nailed it. Everything happened so quickly that I just grabbed my camera and really did not have time to check the settings. We were photographing from the car also. Definitely a larger F stop would have raised the shutter speed but sometimes in the excitement you don't have the time or you just plain don't think.

I appreciate your comments and thanks for taking the time.

    Best regards

Hi Judy, I love the pouncing posture, especially with the folded front legs. Would some selective sharpening on the coyote help? Stiil, super comp, and well captured.

Great exposure of fur in snowy condition using manual exposure. Looks pretty sharp on monitor despite the f 14. A shot I have wanted for a decade but no luck.
