    Default Brown Thrasher on Mullen

Another from yesterday morning using my "Alan Murphy Skills" aquired at his south Texas workshop last year. Was very happy to get this as these don't come out in the open to often. This one was called in using audio.

Nice colour palette, BG and perch. Some of the whites seem to lack detail but I am on a uncalibrated monitor so not confident of that judgement. A small crop from above to raise the bird in the frame may be an option. A little selective sharpening of the eye may optimise web presentation. I can see why you're happy with this one, Joe. Good job.

Pretty cool, I like the perch, complementing BG, sharpness and eye contact. I might give it a tad more room, tone down the chest and run NR on the BG. BTW, there is a little dust spot at the top.

Stunning image, bird, and BKGR. The whites look a bit bright. How did you bring the bird to the perch?

Very nicely composed colors, bit of NR in BG but overall it a stunning image of
    a difficult to see bird.

Joe I am so jealous. I badly want to get one of these fellas as I love their overall look. The perch is awesome and the bg colors look soooo good against the bird. Congrats on nailing your opportunity.

You'll have to but the book to find out!!! Just kidding of course. The perch was set up in the hopes of getting a phoebe on it. I saw the thrasher fly into a nearby bush so I played the thrasher audio and out it came. Long enough to get maybe 6 or 8 shots.

Thanks Joe. Alan will like that you use the tape only in non-breeding season.
