Great launch pose, Jim - plane of focus seems mainly on trunk/talons leaving the bill and head a bit soft. Difficult to increase DOF while maintaining SS. ISO 800 may have gained you a stop without too much of a noise cost. I like the slight motion blur in the wing tips.

Cool take-off pose and sharpness, I also like the dangling feet and only wish for wing/trunk separation.

The dangling talons are very cool (and pointy!). I would give this image a little contrast boost.

Killer pose and talons. If he had been on the end of the perch the merge would have been avoided. Still spectacular and killer sharp.

Well timed for the take off James, and love the eye contact from head on. You can just see those talons wrapped around his prey. Well captured.
