Taken late afternoon on a fairly overcast day. I've cropped it tightly to get rid of the other lion to the left and remove some of the oof foreground.

Hilary,
Where was the other lion, as I would have prefeered a litlle more to the left. Not wishing to be at all picky but this would have been better with a little gap between the face and the tree, but who can control where a Lion poses?
Interesting interaction you captured. I think Ken brings up some good points. I would have preferred a bit loser framing.
Some good points mentioned, but thanks for sharing.
great pose and exposure Hilary! seems a tad soft to me? love the eyes...
I agree Ken, that is probably the difference between award winning photos and 'just ok' photos. Getting those last things just right. I looked at the original but the 2nd lion is lying with his back against this boy's head and although I could leave a bit of him in, I don't have enough the other side to balance it. I looked at my husband's images as he was sitting further back in the vehicle and although he has better separation, he has the 2nd lion's head appearing over this one's.
Stuart, this was taken at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Laikipia, Kenya.Where did you capture this Hilary?
Morkel, I didn't think so, but the dof is very small so possible.seems a tad soft to me?
Love the action captured here and I agree with the above comments if that was possible. Still a very interesting capture and thanks for sharing.
