Default South Shore of Lake Erie

Hi, I'm going to be in the area between Cleveland and Toledo and was wondering if anyone had been shooting birds there and what you could reccomend as a place to photograph? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jim

Hi, Jim: Traveling west from Cleveland on Rt.2, and only about 22 miles east of Toledo) there are three spots to check out. First is Magee Marsh ( a spectacular spring migration spot), second is Ottawa NWR, which is just down the road from Magee (a a nice visitor center with a boardwalk out back), and thirdly is Metzger Marsh, a couple of miles down the road. These are all off of Rt.2 on the North side of the road.
I know there are a lot of spots near and around Cleveland, but I'm not too familiar with them.

Was just in the area this past Sat., and things were scarce. LOts of Sparrows, some raptors, imm. Bald Eagles, a few migrating warblers (Yellow Rumped), a few Greater Yellowlegs, etc.

    Hope this helps, good birding!

    Richard
