    Default Prima donna Dunlin.

I found the pose here quite amusing. This little individual needed a little help to coax it into prime light and onto a cleaner area of the beach (you can read how that was done here ). Small crop to help comp, and some specular highlights toned down via clone tool (soft brush, 30% opacity).

Love the pose, exposure and the sharpness. Don't mind the side light. Maybe some more space at top and bottom. But I think that the background here really takes away from the bird. Especially compared to the image you linked to.

    Hi Daniel,
I too love the pose! Actually I don't mind the BG as I don't find that the bands of colour take my attention from the bird. Vive la difference!! :D

Great pose and comp. I don't mind the BG. After all , they can't always be clean and flat.

Lovely low angle Dan, and he is certainly posing for you nicely. Good job with the DOF, head and beak nice and sharp, together with the body. I dont mind the tail falling out of the range, and nothing wrong with the BG either.

I like the pose and the blurred foot. The BG doesn't bother me at all. The bird feels a little tight in the frame.
