    Default Zebra newborn (4)

The continuation of the story from here http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ad.php?t=46824
The small herd of Zebra, mum and the new 5 minute old foal had slowly been making their way over
to a pack of 10 Wild Dog that were sleeping off an Impala kill they had made the previous night.
So as to not let our vehicle inadvertently affect the outcome, we broke away and observed the
interaction from the rear of the dog pack.(Hoping of course that things would go well for the new foal.)
The mother, still carrying the afterbirth knew exactly when to drop this at the most opportunistic time
and this was the resultant image I managed to grab as they squabbled over it!
Very fortuitous for the foal to manage an escape.
I think also the fact that they had fed last night, could have also played an important part.

    C & C most welcome

    Marc,

Now that is what I call a Wild Dog action shot!
But I am not to sure whether I would leave the OOF dog in.

Yes indeed, that is quite an action shot. In fact the whole series is an amazing capture. Are you going to send it into Africa Geographic?

I was in two minds as well Ken, I'll submit another with the OOF dog out.

I was hesitant at suggesting to remove the OOF dog as I felt it added depth, but the repost rocks! what fantastic action!

    Marc,

Glad to be of assistance (joke). You have done a good job in removing the OOF dog.

I like the action here Marc and would go with the repost you did - much more powerful then the first version.

This is an absolutely amazing action shot Marc. Really well done. Your repost is masterfully done but I prefer the original post. That extra OOF dog adds to the depth and a slight red tint on him adds to the bloody (for the lack of better words) nature of the scene.. :)
