Photographed in a flooded field nearby a few weeks ago. I posted one image with fully-stretched wings in this series earlier but liked that I got the full reflection in this one.

Love the rasied foot and wings, excellent head angle and sharp detail!
Reflection and green water are the icing on the cake.
Nicely done!
Might like to see a bit more room at the bottom.
Love the rasied foot, pose, reflection and the beautiful colors!
I like the tip toe posture, and well exposed on the underwing. Im amazed you show a colourful reflection in that green water. Is it the surrounding grasses giving it the effect of green water?
beautiful image with everything spot on

Lovely raised wing and foot pose, and a reflection too!
The reflection together with the raised foot bring it all together.
Pretty bird with the colors rendered beautifully throughout. I like the ripples and raised foot. There are a couple vertical streaks in the water below the top of his beak that keep catching my eye.
Hi Axel,
Stunning all around - I love the streaky grasses!

Nicki
Hi axel,
Like this one a lot, namely the HA, plumage details, raised foot and wing pose, water color and reflection. This is very minor but if mine,I would consider cloning out that small piece of grass sticking out of the water behind the bird.

PS: nice job nailing the ID on this one!!
Love the pose with the raised foot and wings, the exposure, reflection and sharpness. I do find the vertical streaks in the background a bit distracting. JR
I really like the moment you captured here Axel.
The detail light and pose...all excellent.
Sorry, I was going to answer this one but I see you have beaten me to it Axel, so please ignore this!
I think your image is superb - lovely vibrant colours, an active interesting pose on the bird mirrored by the whole reflection. Very nicely composed in the frame and the suggestion of reeds in the BG set the habitat and add interest, at least as far as I am concerned, much more interesting than dull unicolorous backgrounds that many people seem to prefer. Each to his own, of course, but we are wildlife photographers, producing images of wild and free subjects in their NATURAL habitat. Odd bits of grass etc. will, unfortunately at times, often crop up but should we really clone everything out and make it a sterile version of what we saw?
