Another from White Dome....must say I had some spectacular clouds! As I was going for the silhouette....no split ND used and exposed for the brightest part of the sky.
Canon 1D Mark lll with the 28-135mm lens at 30mm and f22 for 1/30 sec. and ISO 100.....all tripod mounted and bubble level in hot shoe.

Hi Roman... this looks great, and the title fits the image perfectly. The small sun burst gives it an extra touch. A question.. did you choose f/22 for a particular reason?

I find that f16 and up......give better sunbursts......I usually set the camera to f22 for landscapes.....and then forget it......I did try it at f8 as a hand held test shot.....sunburst was much weaker......but I deleted that already so I can't show you for comparison....sorry.

Ah, of course... a stronger sunburst! So while we're at it, one more question... ;-) Did you manually focus after composing the shot, or did you AF on the edge of White Dome, etc?

99% manully focus......not even sure why I need AF for landscapes!

That's what I thought your answer would be... ;-)

Sorry I missed you this fall up in Yellowstone - I stayed local here in northern Utah due to personal schedule, etc. Next time!

Roman, The cloud color tones are gorgeous. I love the way the sky seems to open. The sunburst is a lovely touch. Very unique silhouette!

Very dramatic skies and strong silhouette with enough grounding. Winner in my book :)

This is a spectacular image! I kept coming back to this image. Awesome! Congratulations. Roman, worth printing on a large canvas and hanging on the wall for years on. TFS.
